Kimber 5" pistols all use the same springs as the Colt 1911 Government 5" pistols.

•     Factory recoil spring are the same as the Colt with .45 ACP using 16 pounds, Super .38/9mm using 14 pounds.
•     Factory hammer spring (mainspring) is rated at 21 pounds.
•     Magazine springs for the 7 & 8 rounds are the same as Colt.
•     Magazine springs for the Hi-Capacity Polymer pistols are not available at this time.
•     All other misc springs are the same as the Colt Government

Kimber Compact & Pro Carry - 4" pistols

Kimber 4" pistols all use the same springs as the Colt Officers pistols.

•     Factory supplied recoil spring are Colt Officers full-diameter 22 pounds (use Stock Nbr 490xx)
•     Factory hammer spring (mainspring) is rated at 23 pounds.
•     Magazine springs are the same as Colt.
•     All other misc springs are the same as the Colt Government

Wolff improved design recoil spring offers higher battery pressure along with a higher recoil rating, providing optimal functioning.
For all Pro Carry and Compact 4" Kimber guns only.

RECOIL SPRINGS 
Recoil springs are available with load-rated specifications. Each load-rated recoil spring package includes an extra power firing pin spring.

• Reduced Power...: None Available
• Factory Standard.: 18 Lb.
• Extra Power.........: 21 Lb.

• Factory hammer spring (mainspring) is Colt Officers type rated at 23 pounds.
• Magazine springs are the same as Colt.
• All other misc springs are the same as the Colt Government

Kimber produced many .45 caliber 1911 pistols with external extractors.  The factory spring was often too weak to provide reliable extraction.  We now offer an extra power extractor spring which is approximatelty 25% stronger than the original factory design.  This spring will emiminate most extraction problems in these pistols.   Note: Not for .22 caliber models.
